The Community Spark Project
is a community outreach project engaging the public of the South Lakes, by acquainting a minimum of 30 participants to the performing circus arts to attend a series of active workshops, learn new skills and create a show together. It will then be showcased at a residental nursing home, an arts festival and finale Ulverston's Lantern Festival. Workshops would focus on object manipulation; fire fans, fire hoop, LED pixilated poi and hula hoop, character building, costume and face painting.
The aim is to construct a large scale visual pattern of simple unified motions that can create an overall complex collidoscopic composition with fire and light and as we dance in numbers up to 30 at night. Working on structure using light and dark, levels and sound. Creating a show in the theme 'Out the toy box'.
“The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.”
